Land before 16:00 if you want a seaplane
Seaplane transfers to distant atolls stop around 16:00. If your flight lands later, you'll likely spend the night at a hotel near the airport and take the seaplane the next morning. That's an extra night and an extra transfer — budget for it.
Speedboat resorts (North and South Malé Atoll) run later, but last boats are still early evening. Book an arrival that lands by mid-afternoon when you can.
