Classic resort

4 days / 3 nights β€” resort escape

Best from Kochi, Bengaluru or Mumbai. Aim for a morning arrival so you catch the same-day transfer.

  1. Day 1 β€” Arrive & transfer

Land at MLE before 14:00, file IMUGA already done, take the speedboat or seaplane to your resort. Evening: house-reef snorkel and a sunset drink.

  2. Day 2 β€” Lagoon & sandbank

Morning snorkelling on the house reef, afternoon sandbank picnic, sunset cruise on a dhoni.

  3. Day 3 β€” Relax or dive

Optional guided dive or manta trip (seasonal), spa, overwater villa sunset. Ask for an Indian dinner β€” most resorts run counters.

  4. Day 4 β€” Depart

Morning swim, checkout, transfer back to MLE. Keep a buffer for weather delays before your return flight.

Mixed trip

7 days / 6 nights β€” resort + local island

The best of both: a resort bubble for the honeymoon feeling, plus a local island for culture and lower costs.

  1. Days 1–3 β€” Resort (North or South MalΓ©)

Speedboat transfer, house reef, overwater sunset. Eat at the Indian counter; request veg/Jain at booking.

  2. Day 4 β€” Move to a local island

Speedboat to Maafushi or similar. Check in to a guesthouse, explore the sandy lanes, try local cafe food.

  3. Day 5 β€” Sandbank & snorkel trip

Shared boat trip to a sandbank and reef. Modest dress off the bikini beach.

  4. Day 6 β€” Male walking tour

Ferry to Male: Islamic Centre, Sultan Park, local market. Back for a sunset cruise.

  5. Day 7 β€” Depart

Morning ferry/speedboat to the airport, buffer for weather, fly home.

πŸ’‘ Itinerary rule of thumb

Never schedule a same-day connection on the return if you're coming from a far atoll. Seaplane and speedboat delays are common in wet season β€” leave a full day of slack.
